London Treasury is delighted to welcome Maggie Rodriguez-Piza as the new CEO, effective from 1st May.
Maggie steps up from her current role as Deputy Director of SME Finance, overseeing all the SME investment entities that form part of the Funding London group of companies. In September 2023, the Funding London team joined London Treasury to consolidate the Mayor’s investment management subsidiaries. Since then, Maggie has been a member of London Treasury’s executive committee.
Maggie’s career spans twenty-five years across corporate finance and investment management. At Funding London, Maggie transformed the organisation from an SPV into an active investor with a fully professional and highly experienced team. Over her time at Funding London, funds under management have grown from c. £20m to £180m across several successful funds supporting London’s high-growth SMEs.
Maggie spearheaded the design and establishment of three funds to support the economic development strategy for London: the Greater London Investment Fund (2019), the London Co-investment Fund (2014), and the MMC London Fund (2012). She also established the evergreen model for the organisation where returns from previous funds are reinvested in new ones. Under her leadership, Funding London established the highly regarded Investment Readiness Programme which has helped early-stage startups secure more than £24m of investment to date.
As she takes the helm at London Treasury, Maggie will focus on delivering this year’s strategic priorities: welcoming new investors to the London Treasury Liquidity Fund, enhancing services for the company’s shared treasury clients, supporting the public sector bodies’ accelerated net zero ambitions through the Green Finance Fund and Edge Fund, and launching a new fund to back ambitious startup founders.
We also say farewell to Luke Webster, with gratitude and in recognition for the extraordinary team he has built and with a commitment to carry forward the vision.
